Our universe

Don't hurt the greenness of soil for our life depends on it. Be aware of what you do to world's elements: soil, water, wind and fire.

the history verses 300

He was the son of Darush I and daughter of Cyrus the great, Xerxes I was the heir to the achemanid dynasty. As a king he following the rebellious revolts in Egypt he, however did not follow the manners of Cyrus the great, not respecting the Egyptian holy places and also reacting towards the defeats with a heavy hand.
In times of his father, Darush I, part of Greek empire, modern turkey which was conquered by Cyrus started to rebel against the rulers of a century starting by expelling the governor of the Persians. Following these matters Persia started a fight with Greeks in the western borders. This war eventually lasted to the throne of Xerxes I and having gathered a great army he flew to the Greek border and there in thermopile the fight went on, the Greeks were defeat and Persian army conquered Athens. By the intrusion of some of the moghs (religious leaders of zarthustians) and their involvement, metropolis was burned. As a result of this conflict, Persian were later defeated and sent back home but years later in times of Alexander the great, Per police (Takhtejamshid) the Persian capital was burned in revenge of Athens. And today the movie 300 is produced showing the Persian army as wild and monstrous animals and Xerxes I himself as an indo-African looking man (with no resemblance to a Persian!!) being so huge and bald and having homosexual manners. The army is a mixture of rhinoceros, monsters and super natural creatures according to the movie. To all readers I would like to suggest that the Greek historian who wrote and studied the thermopile conflict was living in Persia at the time and criticizing the Persian rulers and also the rebels against the Persian rulers were into various attacks to overcome the achemanid’s rule. This movie was even criticized by Greek historians for making the city looking a military one just like Troy in which the story was different from history. As for yourself, if you have seen the movie you can compare the carved statue of Xerxes I with the image in the movie.

Cyrus the great

He was the first person to call for human rights and respect for regional religions and customs. He did also ordered for having a light hand on the defeated, condemned slavory, lowering or hurting the state of women. He was the founder of Achemanid dynasty and the first empire in history. He spreaded his good wills wherever he conquered. He was Cyrus the great. The first placed persian in history.

Tradition of joy

The culture of fire, the tradition of celebration

According to the zarthustrian religion god created the world in six stages and it did accure in the beginning of spring and so having the spring time as a renewal and rebirth of nature the ancient Persians first praised this time as a both religious and cultural celebration until Jamishid I, a Persian king named and succeeded it as a national holiday. At the time, as it’s said so that the Persian people were one of the happiest of all times, having many celebrations and gatherings. As one can be mentioned, the Esfandegan ceremony a day of praise for women and also later on praising loves. So many aspects of this celebration are also affected by the gesture of the ancient Persian women and the praise and love of Zarthustra (the prophet) towards his daughter Purchista. Now days, in Iran the birthday of Fatimah (prophet Mohammad’s daughter) are known as the day of appreciation for mothers and women. As for love, Valentine’s Day has been deeply recognized and passionately joined the Iranian costumes. Having a young generation, a day of love can’t be ignored although many youngsters have no idea about the origins of this celebration; it’s story and even the fact that the routes of this matter came originally from their own background. Despite all these metamorphoses one single ancient item has lived through history being loved and appreciated by all Iranians. All the wars, the religious conflicts, the invasions, destroyed much but not the celebration Norouz. Today in Tehran, and all other parts of Iran gather in their houses, have plants (Sabzeh) grown, lit the candles, and enjoy themselves as part of being a Persian. Candles symbolize clearness and luminosity of which the ancestors of us deeply relied on. People enjoy themselves in their own way mostly by shopping, gathering, traveling and so on.
If our culture moved over seas and brought smiles world wide, all Iranians praise their glorious background and find a way to fulfill themselves with the joy that was inherited through centuries.

The lost civilization struggling through it's own to raise again. A glorious fortune that will never bend over.

The one tradition, the one ten gin

The one tradition, the one ten gin

The blossom of nature and greenness of the soil all represents one big flavor of mankind: the joy and glory of life. Throughout the history of existence spring always brought something new and how human beings confronted it shares a different story.
To my concern I will focus on Iran, of when and how the celebration of spring started and what it truly means.

Thousands of years ago group of migraters from Siberia and east Europe headed east and south in search of what they called warmer lands. These people were called the Aryans. The Aryans, however splitted on their journey to the south, one group headed to the now called Iran. They were of three tribes, the Medes, the parts and the Parsis. The way they reached power and founded the first known empire doesn’t in that much sense intrigue the means for spring celebration. Having the periods of ancient Persia divided into glory, civilization and magic, the history of norouz celebration is traced back to magic period. At the time, human beings were all in the fight of getting control over the world elements by super natural powers. The religion of the time and all other residential issues focused on the same matter. A young man had risen at the time, by super natural birth affects probably considered usual at the time. It is delivered that after years of wandering through nature and finding beliefs of it, he was confronted with god by the side of daiitii river and then was sentenced to messenger three orders of: worshiping ahoramazda (god) and relying on righteous for all.

Of having this religion conflicts only considered as the ideological change through perfection of an ancient philosophy or of a true story, they both affect the origins of Persian Norouz. According to zarthustrian religion, the ancient religion of Persia, god created the universe in six days, six stages. As in spring every thing is renewed and blossomed in to it’s most perfect range, it can be assumed of almost a new creation or the repetition of the first one. So this religion matter flowed in time and in times of Jamshid shah I, a Persian king it was established as a national celebration.

Manners of celebrating this ancient holiday that has lived through centuries of disruption, metamorphoses and intrigue did apparently change. No one can be certain about how it truly was in old time but the modern form of it can be traced and logic to be found on it’s origins. Having Haft cins (Seven S) on the linen is the known and typical part of it for almost all viewers consisting of Sabzeh (planted greens), Somagh, Serke (vinogar), Sekke (coin), Sib (apple), Sir (garlic), and Samano. It is proven that some time ago and reported before the Arab invasion to Persia it used to be Haft shin having, Sharab (wine), Sharbat (syrup), Shekar (sugar), Shir (milk), Shirini (sweets), Shirberenj (rice pudding) and finally Shahnameh (the rescuer of Persian language). To my concern there is one problem that is Sharab (wine) is actually Arabic world and the equivalent for it in Persian is Mey (Wine) so probably there should be a Haf mim (Seven M’s) in the history of norouz!!!!

No matter how much the traditions of norouz were changed still growing plants called Sabzeh is one that is brought for us from the very ancient Persians. As it was mentioned before there was a time when people were in seek of magic and super natural powers and so they did a lot to make their desire come true. One of them ironically is to grow a plant, the did the job and so when spring came bring green soil to nature they felt as if the nature had copied them and Spring came to reality as a result of their own action.

And so centuries of civilization, glory, even fall and disruption went on and still there is no end, we have one thing left from our ancestors and a reason for our joy and pride in this time of year.

Charshanbe Suri

From centuries till now, a fire celebration was held in our country. Despite all the battles all the intrusions and all the time passed still this ceremony is to be celebrated in two weeks. The last Wednesday of the year is when people, Iranians gather in streets of almost every city of the country. Making fire and jumping over it and also these days fire cracking.
Tehran, the capital of Iran, faces one of the largest fire work created by Tehran residents. Fire crackers light up Wednesday's night and people dance and enjoy themselves to heaven.

Morning in Tehran

Just like normal days, today, the forth of march is cold and scuzzy. College students rush to classes along by other residents. After reaching to class, fortunately the professor was late and so the beginning of the class wasn't tiring as it usaully should be.
Feeling jealous of the one's still sleep,I start my day feeling good. I wonder if I would have my birthday this way 10 years from now?
